Replacing the old module on the similar Renault Megane window - It's easy!

The problem

Very many Renault owners have experienced a problem with one or more of their car's electric windows.
The same problem is found in some versions of the Citroen C2, C3 and C4, which have a very similar window control module fitted.

Often after a period of erratic or intermittent action, the window simply stops working, quite often in the open position.

Problems may be experienced on any, or all, of the nearside or offside, front or rear door electric windows.

The cause

The cause can be either a mechanical or electrical fault.

If, when pressing the up/down window switch, the motor can be heard to be running, or attempting to turn, the fault is almost certainly mechanical.
Otherwise, no sound from the motor, or just a click from a relay, indicates an electrical fault, which mainly affects some versions of the Citroen C2, C3 and C4 built between 2003 and 2012.

Mechanical failure can often be rectified by replacing a snapped steel cable, or plastic clip, or else the complete regulator assembly.
There are numerous after market suppliers able to supply these at reasonable cost.

Electrical failure is often caused by damage to the electronics, as a result of moisture entering the Temic control module fitted to the electric window lift motor on some vehicles.
Or if the window operates of its own accord, this also indicates an electrical problem.

The original 6-pin Temic module is not available separately new, or even with the motor, but only as part of the complete original Citroen window regulator, including the motor, at a cost of several hundred pounds.

The solution
Simple and inexpensive

A simple and inexpensive cure, if the cause is electrical, and a grey ended 6 pin Temic module is fitted, is the "mini-cube"™ module from QDI Ltd, which is a simple plug-in replacement for the original module.
If you want to retain all the original features like one-touch, we also offer the original Temic module.
A little more expensive, but that's your choice to make.

Not all versions of the C2 C3 and C4 are fitted with it, so you should inspect your lift motor before ordering.
They are easily affected by any rainwater or condensation that can find its way inside.
This is what it looks like:

Citroen temic module

The QDI "mini-cube"™ module does away with the troublesome electronics of the original, but still retains full control of the window from the door switch.
The small downside is that there is no "one-touch" operation.

The mini-cube is fully encapsulated, so it cannot be affected by moisture like the original.

It will successfully replace the grey capped 6-pin Temic module fitted to the front or rear, nearside or offside, window regulator motor of the Citroen C2, C3 or C4 built up between 2003 and 2012.
